Deborah Williams
Writers Award
Over the past ten years I have written plays and films with the hope of exploring disability and the lives of disabled people in an international and global context. I create work that explores, challenges and dismantles barriers to the assumtions about disabled people, the quality of life and the relevance of personal experiences to the bigger picture. Thats why I am so proud to be nominated for this DaDa Award. I have to say being commissioned by NML/DaDaFest to write Harriet Tubman; 'Let my People Go' has been a highlight of my career.
