AmbITion - Digital Accessibility & The Arts
This FREE half-day seminar will look at how arts organisations can use digital technology to ensure that their online activities are accessible for all. Using DaDa's (formerly North West Disability Arts Forum's) trailblazing DaDaHello website as an interactive case study, the event will explore some of the key issues for consideration when developing accessible websites, alongside some of the unique solutions that have been applied to the new site.

The event will be chaired by accessibility specialist David Kreps (http://tinyurl.com/cdw3hn) with presentations from Ruth Gould (NWDAF), Adrian Slatcher (AmbITion) and Beth Aplin (Henderson Aplin Partnership).

The event is a 'must' for any arts professional or arts organisation that is committed to achieving true accessibility for their online audience.

Wednesday 11th March, 10am-4.30. Free buffet at lunch.

We are still in the early stages of the planning, etc , at this stage we are asking for expressions of interest. The event involves MRes students talking for about 20mins each about an
aspect of their art research subject that they are undertaking on the
course.

The day is for people to listen to new ideas and to get an idea of what the
course involves if they wanted to do it themselves, and to talk to the
students about the work they are doing. Or even if the art world is

It Hasn't Happened Yet! - the story of a disabled woman's journey into the funny and peculiar world of comedy.

Wheelchair using comedian Liz Carr previews her new show "It Hasn't Happened Yet" directed by Huw Thomas, at People Show Theatre, Bethnal Green 11th-13th February and at Leicester Comedy Festival, 15th February. An optional Q&A session with the writer and director will take place after the matinee performance on Friday February 13th.

"It Hasn't Happened Yet!" tells the story of Alex Saunders, a burgeoning stand-up comedian who struggles to find her way through the minefields that are disability and comedy. From her first attempts at stand-up on the Melvin Frank comedy course to becoming a finalist in the Funny Factor competition, "It Hasn't Happened Yet!" invites audiences to join Alex on this bumpy ride through the emotions, mistakes, ambitions and risks of following your dreams.

Written and Performed by Liz Carr, "It Hasn't Happened Yet!" is a timely and groundbreaking one woman play that explores the language we use, the words we don't, what we find funny, what we don't, why we laugh and why we don't before asking the ultimate question, should we be laughing at disability?
