Acting for Channel 4
Channel 4 are looking for 2 disabled actors to star in a new drama
series they're producing drama called CAST OFFS (formerly called
Maroons). This is a 6 part drama focusing on 6 characters, each with a
different disability.

The filming will take place in Nottingham, Norfolk and London between
22nd March - 11th May (dates to be confirmed). It would require
probably 3 weeks in total plus 1 or 2 rehearsal days.

The writer is keen to work with the actors to hang the script from their
actual experiences, asking them what hasn't been said publicly about
living with their condition that they would like to get across. The more
surprising and controversial the better.

They have already cast 4 of the 6 roles but are still looking to cast
the roles of Lisa and Dan. Whilst it is not necessary for people to have
previous acting experience they must be open and confident and able to
hold their own in front of a camera crew:

LISA: Is in her twenties, little person (under 4ft 10") - she is instantly attractive because of her relaxed manner and easy wit. She has the gift of the gab. Lisa refuses to see herself as a little person and by
doing so denies a part of who she is. She is vivacious, bubbly & out going. It is important that the audience falls in love with Lisa.

DAN: Is in his twenties. Dan is a wheelchair user. We
need someone with a boyish charm with effortless good looks and charisma. He is slightly awkward with women so a lack of confidence needs to be believable in whoever we cast.

Written by Jack Thorne (who wrote for series 1 and 2 of Skins) and
staring some of the UK's leading disabled actors, Cast Offs will draw on
the real experiences of the cast to provide a compelling, subversive,
blackly comic and brutally honest insight into the lives of disabled people in the UK today. All of the stories featured in the series will be entirely
realistic and true to life.

For more information and if you think you are interested in
auditioning please email casting@sasharobertson.com asap.
