She tries to shelter in a raging storm and finds a strange ship docked at Canning Dock. The ship is the most notorious slaveship of the Middle passage: The Zong. Watch Eastenders, Top Gear, BBC news, Robin Hood, Panorama, Casualty and many more BBC shows? The BBC hold regular meetings throughout the UK to make sure that they are meeting their remit. And they want to hear from you! The next meeting will take place on 17th September at BBC Radio Merseyside on Hanover Street, Liverpool and we are seeking deaf and disabled viewers who would like to give feedback. The meeting will be fairly informal and will take place in the evening. We are currently seeking 10-15 people who would be interested in taking part. You must register in order to attend. Administrator
A fixed term, part time LARC/Thrive Communication Administrator, is required for LARC's Liverpool Thrive programme, which is run by the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic on behalf of the LARC partnership. This contract will expire on the 30th June 2011. LARC includes the Bluecoat, FACT, Liverpool Biennial, Liverpool Everyman and Playhouse, National Museums Liverpool, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, Tate Liverpool and the Unity Theatre. The LARC/Thrive Communication Administrator will work with the Thrive team to support good communication across and beyond the LARC partnership, for example developing and maintaining the LARC website, and in providing general administrative support. They will also work on various strategic projects, such as the forthcoming LARC intrinsic impact audience research. The successful candidate must have at least one year's administrative experience, excellent written and verbal communication skills, experience of maintaining a website and managing print and design production as well as excellent computer skills including MS Word and data base. The salary for this post is £8,228 per annum. Open Day at the Phil
Sunday 20 September, 11am-4pm. Hope Street Feast 2009 is the fourth blissful family-friendly Sunday street party packed with music, theatre, dance, great food, drink and produce, and the Phil's Open Day is at the heart of it all. This year's theme is The Big Nosh, with all sorts of gastronomic delights on offer from the finest eateries on the street and the vast food and farmers' market which runs the length of Hope Street from LIPA to the Everyman. Liverpool Philharmonic Hall will be open all day, with three free concerts by the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Vasily Petrenko, Seth Paris's ‘West African music meets Lancashire Brass Band' extravaganza, and The West Everton Children's Orchestra alongside a full programme of events in the Rodewald Suite, and hands-on activities in the Grand Foyer Bar. Liverpool Working Class Music Festival
A festival of radical song which takes place every September at the Picket Music Venue Liverpool. The festival was established in 2008 Liverpool's year as the European Capital of Culture. The aim of the Festival organisers is to promote songs of struggle, protest and social justice, as well as songs that tell the story of working people. The 2009 Festival will take place from Sunday 13th September to Wednesday 16th September inclusive. Full line up; Sunday 13th September at 7pm- supported by War on Want. Leon Rosselson Leon is celebrating 50 years as Britain's foremost mischief maker. An outstanding and prolific songwriter who has spent half a century "artfully stirring things up". Don't miss him.

First Take Talent Development Projects
Always wanted to write films or make them? Past First Take films have gone on to be screened at film festivals, win or be nominated for awards such as 'BBC Best of the North West' at the Manchester Short Film Festival and 'Femmes Fantastique' at the London Short Film Festival, play at Cannes Short Film Corner, be broadcast on Propeller TV. UDO World Street Dance
Has launched its Michael Jackson Dance Show Tribute in Blackpool with the announcement of a whole line up of Britain's Got Talent Stars taking centre stage. Taking place on August 30th in the Opera House, the show will feature this year's BGT winners dance act Diversity, as well as Signature, George Sampson, Aidan Davis, MD Productions, Sugar free and Flava (who appeared at out2dance). The show is also part of the prestigious UDO World Street Dance Championships that take place each year in Blackpool from 28 - 30 August 2009, with international dance crews, including World Hip Hop Champions the Philippine All Stars, flying in to the North West to compete. To celebrate returning to the music scene after 25 years under the new name of THUNDERBOX VIDEO PRODUCTIONS, we are offering a FREE BROADCAST BAND/SOLO ARTIST film/video that will be promoted and aimed at MTV and the usual internet channels.
This is the perfect promotion opportunity for new or existing bands/solo artists to be heavily promoted and seen throughout the world. Hope Street Limited has been commissioned to produce On The Road, which will culminate in an exciting performance and installation linked to the NML Egypt exhibition for KS2. The programme will deliver a creative learning outreach programme to selected primary schools in Knowsley, Liverpool and St. Helens. It is funded by central government through the ‘Find Your Talent' pathfinder programme, led by National Museums Liverpool . The programme aims to encourage children and young people to engage with their local cultural arts experience. Type: Schools tour of Liverpool, St Helens & Knowsley Rehearsals: 24th - 29th August & 12th October - 1st November 2009 at NML in Liverpool city centre.
