Welcome to the first newsletter to be written on the first sunny Wednesday of the Year! It finally happened! And I'd best get on with it before the ever listening fates are tempted... what have we got for you this week?

Creative Partnerships Merseyside Schools Programme
INVITATIONS TO TENDER
If you or your organisation would like to submit a tender for work with Creative Partnerships Merseyside Schools please see below.
The Change School strand enables schools to enter into a three-year partnership arrangement that can radically transform the ways in which the school operates placing creativity at the heart of its ethos and operation.
To be considered for any of the available work, please submit a completed tender form - by 9th March 2009.
Please submit completed forms electronically, clearly titled by your name/organisation and school to joan.forshaw@creative-partnerships.com.
Tenders received after this date cannot be considered. Please contact Joan direct for a Tender form. Your completed tender form will be forwarded to the relevant school and their Creative Agent will be in touch with you, either to arrange an interview or to let you know you have been unsuccessful on this occasion.
Organisations, individuals or groups of practitioners tendering for work will enter a partnership with schools at the planning stage and help shape and influence the programmes of work through collaborative interaction with children, staff and others. Your availability and number of days needed will be discussed at interview/planning stage with the schools.

New show at The Brindley
Popular children's show Baa Moo Yellow Dog, full of quirky invention and colourful animal puppets is coming to The Brindley Runcorn from Thursday 19 to Saturday 21 March - and you would be barking to miss it!
The play by Half Moon Theatre Company, takes the audience on a fantastical journey of imagination with Ash, a little boy who feels a little bit lonely until he meets some new friends and discovers that it is ok to be different. Join Ash as he looks in holes, turns corners, and hops, skips and jumps over cracks. Travel to a world where things are not what they first seem and where you might even see a yellow dog - if you are really lucky.
Baa Moo Yellow Dog explores the playful imagination of a small boy as he tries to bring order to the unexpected and where difference can be a good thing. Suitable for children aged two to five- years-old, the play is performed in integrated BSL and English allowing both hearing and hearing impaired audiences to enjoy the play on an equal level.

Drama Project Leader

Deafinitely Theatre, the UK's leading Deaf theatre company, is seeking a freelance Drama Project Leader to co-ordinate a major community drama project in London. Funded by the London Councils as part of a three-year project linked to the Cultural Olympiad, this project will provide 60 young deaf people (aged 14-24 from across 14 London Boroughs) an opportunity to take part in drama workshops leading to performance at two theatre venues in July 2009.

To apply you must fill the following requirements:

* have experience working with young deaf people in community or educational settings; proven management and organisational skills; be available to work for 2 days a week from 13 April to 1 August 2009; able to communicate in British Sign Language (BSL Level 3 or equivalent); undertake a CRB check

Opportunity for Young Dancers

Auditions are being held on Friday 27th February from 6pm.
This is your chance to be a part of a show that will feature new choreography from leading UK choreographers: Russell Maliphant, with Adam Benjamin and Hofesh Shechter, and also introduces new work from Ethipian choreographer Junaid Jamal Sendi alongside local young people performing new work choreographed by Tara Jane Herbert and Susannah Broughton. Climate for Change is an exhibition that takes a wider view of environmental crisis from the perspective of power and politics, linked to food crisis, housing crisis, financial crisis and more. The exhibition is about grassroots networks and communities.
From 13 March to 31 May, FACT is opening its gallery doors for artists and groups to come together through workshops, talks, discussion, and activity. You don't have to be an environmental group to be involved - we're interested in all types of grassroots, self organised communities doing interesting things!

A lively yet talented, creative acting/drama tutor required for established school. Recent productions include Sondheims' Into the Woods' ( the full adult version!) Treasure Island (again adult version) and the filming of scenes from 'Harry Potter' and 'The Wiz'... so hopefully you can see how challenging and creative we try to make the experience as opposed to 'drama games' - although we do like those too :)
You must be: reliable, hardworking, trained to degree level (preferably with PGCE) preferred LAMDA experience although not essential. Also hold enhanced CRB although we can apply for one for you.
Not suited to actors who feel let down by the industry and see it as a 'just a job'. This is a permanent position. We are a great team, very creative and supportive and strive to make exciting work. We offer a great hourly rate (after initial trial period) and offer training where required.
The job will begin after Easter on 25th April - interviews will be held 7th March.The venue is in Stretford - the working hours are Saturdays 9.45 - 1pm.
