Dana's Note
Hello to all our readers,

We've had such a busy week here at DaDa Disability and Deaf Arts, we've just got back from London where our swanky new website was met with lots of positive feedback (and has given us lots of ideas for things we need to develop), if you haven't seen it yet, please go to www.dadahello.com.

It's a lovely chunky, crunchy, double decker of a newsletter for you this week and I don't want to delay the first bite of the apple any longer.

Yours,

Dana

Arts Council England Disability Equality and the Visual Arts Research Programme

Arts Council England's diversity and visual arts officers from Yorkshire,
North West and North East offices are working together to articulate and raise awareness as to the skills, talents and practices of visual artists who are disabled and Deaf. To enable a greater understanding, and appreciation of the range of work and creativity, disabled people bring to the arts. And to embed disability equality practice into working practices of the visual arts sector.

On behalf of Arts Council England, DaDa is undertaking a three month research and development programme to investigate how the visual arts sector engages with disabled and Deaf artists and practitioners across the three northern regions, and to explore how the research findings and learning can be disseminated, to enable a more confident and knowledgeable sector.

If you are a disabled or deaf visual artist/practitioner and would be interested in contributing to the research findings by completing a questionnaire please contact Alison Jones, (DaDa's Arts Manager), for more information on: Tel: 0151 707 1733 Email: Alison.jones@dadahello.com Fax: 0151 708 9355
