Film a DaDaFest event!
A message from Liz Carr: Hi all, I'm performing my play 'It Hasn't Happened Yet' at the Unity Theatre on Saturday 21st November and I'm hoping there's someone out there who can film it for me? Running at just under an hour, the piece is a darkly comic mix of theatre and standup comedy, a play about a wheelchair using stand-up comedian, trying to make her way in the mainstream world. I want a visual record of it for various reasons - for use in rehearsals, for arts council evaluation and to promote the show to other venues. For the latter reason, I do need the quality to be fairly good as I'd like to put together a 10 minute promo DVD in the coming months, using clips from the show as recorded at unity. I'm too bloody untechnical but if there's anyone out there who could help me? There's a bit of dosh for expenses and a small fee of £50. let me know if you can help... contact me via liz.carr@virgin.net Many thanks! liz

Ghost Writer, New East Manchester
Gorton 100 Commerative Book Fee £3000 Time Scales Nov 2009 - March 2010. In 1909 the larger part of Gorton became part of Manchester - or as others understand it, Manchester became part of Gorton! As a result there has been a wide range of projects taking place during 2009 to celebrate Gorton's 100-year anniversary. We are now looking to document these events so we are looking for a writer to put together a publication based on anecdotes and stories collected by the Gorton 100 Committee. This project offers: the community the chance to capture their memories of Gorton's past , an opportunity to celebrate and document its centenary year , the chance for residents to share their hopes for the future regeneration of the area . Ideally the finished book will have a scrapbook feel and will be a lasting memento of the Gorton 100 project. As well as having a strong visual element the book needs to be historically accurate and include outlines, stories and quotes from those taking part in Gorton 100 activities. The successful writer will need to have a proven track record of writing to a professional standard and have experience of working with members of the community to compile a publication. In regards to personality they will need to be easy going, patient and enthusiastic. Time Scales: Nov 2009 - March 2010 Book to be published by mid Feb 2010 Book Launch March 2010 Deadline for applications: Weds 4th November
For a more detailed project brief please contact Lela Cribbin via email at l.cribbin@manchester.gov.uk
