Double Sentence is based on interviews with Deaf prisoners and ex-offenders, and charts a young man's struggle to be understood in a world where even the loudest fight to be heard. Double Sentence uses British Sign Language, captions and spoken word to be accessible to both Deaf and hearing.

The Ballad of Juniper Davy and Sonny Lumiere
is a magical tale of invention and industry, hide and seek, love, mischief and dark imaginings. The Ballad... is a series of poems written by Rebecca Sharp. On 11th - 15th May 2010, it will be presented as a site-specific promenade performance at Metal at Edge Hill Station in Liverpool UK. It will also feature a musical score by Rebecca Sharp and the whole performance will be brought to life in the visual creations and curiosities by the fine artist Elizabeth Willow. Juniper and Sonny arrive separately to the Station when it opens in 1836. Attracted to the tunnels, shadows and dust, here they may conceal their strangeness, get lost in the noise.
Juniper longs to be a pigeon, her hands made claw-like in an accident. She seldom speaks, but carries a collection of silver whistles instead - her true 'voice' is that of the poetry. Sonny is fascinated by illusions and makes experimental inventions using found objects. They fall in love and work together, gathering materials and creating contraptions, unseen except for the tricks and gifts they place around the Station. They become rumour, urban myth, a dash in the corner of your eye, their names on the tip of your tongue. They survive, 'in the steam of machines / in the seams of sleep'. Tickets for The Ballad are now on sale! Available from:
News from Nowhere bookshop 96 Bold Street Liverpool L1 4HY
Tel. 0151 708 7270 £7 full price, £5 concession. Performances: Tuesday 11th - Saturday 15th May 2010, at 7.30pm. A signed and wheelchair accessible matinee performance on Saturday 15th May, at 2.30pm.
An Exclusive (and Fancy) Tearoom will be open for half an hour before and after each show. A book of the text and CD of the score will be available to buy after each performance.

New writers wanted
*CALLING TO ALL SCRIPTWRITERS -DRAMA STUDENTS - MUSIC STUDENTS - AND ANYBODY INTERSTERED IN THE CREATIVE ARTS!!!!
*WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE PART OF AN EXCITING NEW PROJECT???
We are looking for people of any age who are avid script writers/play writers with a passion for the stage who dream to have their work played in theatres, but have no opportunities to do so. We are promoting a new project in which we will provide you with these opportunities to have your work viewed....But we need you and your own material!! Basically, the group will develop young scriptwriters talents whilst also airing the voices of local people and their work (whether these be students or native inhabitants within the area). While Liverpool is brimming with talent within the artistic industry, it is extremely difficult to find an arena for which writers can voice their work. Of course this will provide a greater advantage to other arts students as we will be looking to integrate dance/drama/fine arts and music students to collaborate within an invigorating new project. We already have in parties interested such as 'Theatre in the Rough', 'Unity Theatre', 'Earth Republic' and 'The Lantern Theatre' to name a few. There will be a meeting at Dean Walters, Upper Duke Street (next to Anglican Cathedral) on Wednesday April 28th at say 5.30pm, which will discuss the development, collaborative ideas and the direction the group will be taking. If however you are unable to make the meeting, but are interested in the project, you can leave your name; contact number; email address with me at: Natalie Parry:-
