Thank you everyone who completed the surveys about DaDaFest that we have been sending out and thank you everyone who came along to the focus group last week. The report arising from this research is currently being collated and will be publically available soon.

We have two new members of staff starting at our offices on the 1st of June. Mark Wilcox has will be our new Operations Director and Ruth Adams will take the role of Marketing Officer. WRITERS' RETREAT IN RABBIE BURNS' COUNTRY
13-17 September 2010. Writing Unlimited is heading up over the border to Dumfries, to the heart of Rabbie Burns' country and the glorious setting of Friars Carse Hotel where Burns was inspired to write many of his well-known works. This rather special retreat is for writers looking for the time and space to make progress with their writing. As writers ourselves we're more than happy to leave you alone to crack on with it, to wander in the grounds, walk by the river, take a trip into Dumfries and follow the tourist trail... And in the evenings, you can meet up with fellow writers and talk shop over dinner and drinks. Call for artists: FLI Residency, folly & Lanternhouse
Contact: imogen.mcgarvie@folly.co.uk Leading digital arts agency folly and Lanternhouse are delighted to announce a new call for artists' residency proposals as part of their successful FLI scheme.
The FLI Residencies offer support to artists working with new technologies to develop their ideas and extend their practice, with a particular emphasis on participatory activity. The programme meets a real need for artists to have access to the high quality discourse and enriching creative environments that Lanternhouse and folly provide. Based in Ulverston, on the edge of the Lake District National Park, resident artists are able to devote time and space to their practice, engaging collaboratively with the host organisations and a rich tapestry of local communities, artists and creatives in the Northwest of England. Details of previous artists in residence can be found at www.fliresidencies.org.uk In 2010 one exceptional applicant will be offered a residency period of 2-3 months. This opportunity will be of particular interest to an artist who is naturally collaborative, seeking time and space to develop new works, research innovative ideas and deliver some truly participative activity. Micro exhibition opportunity

This will be realised in the next months to promote the activities of emerging artists. * Micro2: communicate, express themselves and tell ... * The initiative is open to any subject, for all artists, as those working with visual arts, poetry, writing etc. * The only requirement is the format, "Micro", in fact, exactly 5x5 cm. (1.97x1.97 inches) without any frame * The technical implementation is free. * Between all works received microbo.net will make a rotating selection to expose in the various places where the initiative will take place. Also all works submitted will be published on our website in an appropriate section. * Participating in Micro2 is free. * Works must be sent in original (photocopies will not be accepted) by 15 September 2010, accompanied by the label that will be applied behind the work, filled and signed. You can participate with just one work.
