PLEASE CONTACT US VIA: info@dadahello.com The nominations for the DaDaFest Awards 2009 will start soon so do feel free to nominate or self nominate ....remember, artists do not have to have appeared in DaDaFest to be nominated, so why not take part?
DaDaSings will be a choir composed of you! We are seeking deaf and hearing people with an interest in singing/sign song to take part at a variety of events during the festival. You will work with some of Liverpool's best choir leaders to create new pieces of work and we're eager to involve as many of you as we can, so don't be shy! Contact events@dadahello.com with your name, address and contact details. Auditions will take place in mid October. BSL users will require a minimum of BSL Level 2.

She tries to shelter in a raging storm and finds a strange ship docked at Canning Dock. The ship is the most notorious slaveship of the Middle passage: The Zong. Crossings is an unashamedly feminist piece, exploring the struggles of identity, slavery and forced migration. Suitable for 13+

International Physical Theatre Laboratory
October 25-31, 2009 Leitring bei Leibnitz, Austria
PARTICIPANTS: Actors of physical, dramatic, dance and musical theatres, dancers, choreographers, circus performers, directors.
The working language is English. The programme includes intensive physical training, lectures, discussions and a conference. The Lab is open to performers from different creative genres and techniques inspired by Physical Theatre as a bold, vibrant and multidimensional approach to contemporary theatre performance. Participants will explore physicality as the key to form, style, atmosphere and emotional palette in contemporary performance. Practical training. Part I. Training by method of improvisation. Practical training. Part II. Structural Improvisation. From exercises to performance. Practical training. Part III. Principles of Biomechanics. Meyerhold's etudes. Lectures & Discussions: Performer's Physicality in the methods of Meyerhold, M.Chekhov and Stanislavsky.
The Lab will take place in the beautiful town located within 30 min from Graz Thalerhof Airport, 2.5h from Vienna by car, 40 min from Graz by car, and 20 minutes from the Slovenian border. Now in its third year - Artists, architects and designers are welcome to submit work that responds to our theme of the urban built environment. Selected entries will be exhibited at CUBE with the overall winner receiving a residency in the gallery in 2010 and £1000 - two runners up will receive £250 each. This year's selectors are Leo Fitzmaurice, Sans Façon, CUBE Creative Director Jane Anderson and last year's winner Andrea Booker. To apply please send a CD Rom with selection of work (no more than six images) please ensure that it is a standard package such as powerpoint, or standard image films such as jpegs. Opportunity for actors/participants who are wheelchair users.
Peader Kirk, experimental theatre/performance artist/practitioner and director, is currently Live Artist in Residence at the prestigious Bluecoat, Liverpool. As part of his residency he is developing and directing a live art project and wants to involve actors, and/or, participants who are wheelchair users. Actors/participants will need to be available from the week beginning 14th September for rehearsals, with performances on 24th and 25th September at the Bluecoat. Total rehearsal hours organised around your schedule. This is an ideal opportunity for drama students/ emerging actors/live artists to gain work experience leading to other opportunities in live art and experimental performance practice. Working alongside an established live artist/director with a recognized reputation is a unique opportunity to develop skills in live art and experimental performance practice. Access support and some travel expenses will be provided. Previous experience is desirable but not essential, however participants should feel comfortable in front of a live audience.
