Hello my lovelies,
Lots happening here in DaDaWorld right now, we are but a gnat's breath from the big DaDaFest programme announcement and although we may be a few friends away from 10 million fans on Facebook; we're still keeping it the DaDaWay. DaDa Disability and Deaf Arts Latest
DaDaSings is back!
DaDaSings is returning! We are recruiting for this prestigious and ground-breaking activity to be shown as part of DaDaFest International 2010.

Hearing People will sing and Deaf People will sign. Open to all over 18's. For an application form contact info@dadahello.com or call 0151 707 1733 Minicom: 0151 706 0365 Fax: 0151 708 9355 .

Call out for scripts for DaDaFest International 2010:
"Me and Marilyn" at the Unity Theatre on Monday 22nd and Tuesday 23rdNovember 2010. ‘Only me and Marilyn Monroe get looked at every time we walk into a room' a disabled poet once remarked.
Inspired by this, DaDaFest International 2010 would like to invite talented and exciting up-and-coming Deaf and Disabled writers in the UK to turn their own unwavering gaze upon the world around them and send us their new scripts to be part of a series of rehearsed readings at this year's Festival.
We will be working at the Unity Theatre with a diverse group of actors on two scripts a day to be performed in a rehearsed read through in the evening.
On Tuesday night the evening will be topped off by a reading of a new play from America, "Krankenhaus Blues", by Sam Forman. This is a frightening and funny play about disability issues, genocide, and the grim realities of show business. A playwright, an actress and a clown are locked in a Nazi asylum for reasons beyond their comprehension. Moving effortlessly between 1930's Berlin and present day New York City, the characters make great efforts to connect with each other as they confront their existentially bleak surroundings.
Are you a disabled or deaf writer who has a play that has never been performed in the UK and would like to have it read as part of DaDaFest in a top Liverpool theatre venue? Then please send a CV and some information about your work and the script to DaDaFest international Artistic Director Garry Robson via details below.
All the work received will then go through a selection process and the final plays chosen will be judged by a panel who will decided on the plays to be read over the two evenings.
We are unable to pay any fees for the work, but reasonable expenses will be paid to the writers. The writer will be expected to attend the rehearsals on either 22nd or 23rd November and the readings performances in the evenings.
The closing date for all entries is 31st August 2010. We will contact all applicants by the end of September to let them know if they are successful in their application.

Open City - Looking for community groups to take part!
Open City is a project that supports community groups to organise visits out to concerts, theatre and exhibitions in Liverpool. The project specifically works with community groups that don't regularly go along to galleries, theatres and concert halls, but are keen to discover more.
Each group on the project is supported by a volunteer who helps organise visits out and there's also a small budget to help support with costs of tickets or transport. We are now looking for new groups to take part - the only criteria is that: all group members are over 18, the group has a supportive group leader, keen to be involved in the project. If you think you may know or be part of a group interested, please contact Gin Jacobucci for more information:

Talent Boost 2010
Talent Boost 2010 is run in association with Graeae and supported by the BBC. This project aims to expand casting options, providing creative opportunities for participants from communities across the UK that are currently underrepresented in the broadcasting industry. This year Talent Boost will train a cohort of 20 disabled and non-disabled actors alongside each other in London and Leeds. Our aim is to profile actors with physical and sensory impairments, and actors from minority communities, specifically South Asian, East Asian, Eastern European, Middle Eastern, Black British and Mixed Race. We will equip these actors with well-developed skills as on-screen performers and redress in some measure the imbalance in disabled and minority representation across the industry.
Actors will have the opportunity to work with established writers and directors on a short film which they will then have for their show reel.
