The Fine Art Gallery at the Harris will be re-hung at the start of the next year and will be completed by February 2011. The re-hang will feature a full redecoration of the 3 spaces in the Fine Art Gallery and the re- hanging of art works and objects. The curation of the exhibition will feature clear themes (for example, Telling Stories - Ages of Life) and we would like to give the 2 groups from DENW the opportunity to explore the gallery spaces in depth and also explore the themes deeply - making a connection to the "Who Cares?" Programme from their point of view.

The 2 groups will be encouraged to interpret the themes in their own way so that the emphasis is on using the gallery space and its contents to impact on wellbeing. Over the project period, the groups will be exposed to specialist staff, and existing resources at the Harris. They will be involved in discussions and developments about the re-hang and with their consent, be involved in the consultation process which will help the Harris to make informed choices. Through this, the groups will hopefully become comfortable and feel "a part of" the Museums programming.
Fee: £100 per 2 hour session + travel - the budget also allows for materials during creative sessions and also to produce the end product/resource. Please contact Kyra if you wish to take part: Kyra Milnes, Access and Inclusion Officer, Harris Museum and Art Gallery Tel: 01772 905412 Email: k.milnes@preston.gov.uk
